Kelly joins Flourish Graduation!

You may remember me from a while back – I was lucky enough to attend PorkStock in the Summer
of 2015 for The Feed & Leap & I wrote a little blog about it!

Most recently I was kindly asked to attend The Feed’s Flourish Graduation – I was truly honoured
to have been invited the event & so humbled to be in the presence of such wonderful individuals!

The Feed are pioneers for helping vulnerable people from difficult background & offer a 12 week
programme aimed at providing disadvantaged individuals with a place to gain knowledge on
working within the Catering & Hospitality Industry.

Whilst at The Flourish Academy students will gain key work experience from Andy Baker, head
chef at The Feed which includes catering for events and businesses around Norwich, in order to
set them on the path to a brighter future & ultimately employment.

The end of November saw four inspiring students graduate from The Flourish Academy with
everything they need to know when it comes to working in the catering industry & the day proved to
be very emotional for all involved.

Each member had their own story to tell and with Andy’s help they have built up their self esteem
immensely. This in turn has given them the confidence to gain employment, each individual was
awarded a certificate for completing the course & I wish them all the best for the future.

As well as being invited to the event I got to try some of The Feed’s Mince Pies. I am a huge fan of
Mince Pies this time of year I couldn’t wait to try some after reading all about them on social media.
The pies have been lovingly made by The Flourish Academy & they were absolutely divine, I feel very
fortunate to have tried some.  The team at The Feed launched a Social Media campaign
alongside their mince pies, called #MincePiesWithMeaning in order to raise awareness for The
Feed & all proceeds go to helping the individuals whom they assist.

I had such an amazing time at The Flourish Graduation & I thank The Feed very much for inviting
