Our Flourish Employment Academy

The Feed’s Flourish Employment Academy is a twelve week catering and hospitality training programme aimed at helping vulnerable and socially excluded members of the community enter sustainable, paid employment.

The Flourish Employment Academy operates at the heart of our social enterprise. Our programme offers personal development, work experience and a way of improving self-confidence. We also offer 121 coaching, guaranteed job interviews with potential employers upon graduation and a mentor through LEAP.

Catering & Hospitality Training

Our Head Chef Andy Baker works with our local food champions and partners to help participants develop industry-specific skills. Participants also have the opportunity to achieve qualifications in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety at Work.

Employment Skills Training

We include crucial customer service skills, communication skills, confidence building, interview-specific training, CV workshops and a series of mock interviews within a professional setting.

Personal Effectiveness

We help participants build self-confidence and get a clearer picture of where they want to go. We boost motivation by aiding personal development and goal setting.

Work Experience

Participants are able to gain work experience in a professional kitchen environment working at events catered for by The Feed. Trainees can also gain ‘front of house’ experience by serving food at our events.

Post-Employment Support

It doesn’t stop there! Graduates continue to get the support and training they need through LEAP indefinitely, and have the option to support new academy members at the start of their journeys.

“We are using food as a catalyst to motivate and inspire people to achieve their goals in life”.
